I was elected in 2014 to the Idaho State Senate to represent the people of District 22--Kuna and Meridian. I serve as the Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, and I am also a member of both the Senate Education Committee and the Senate Agricultural Affairs Committee. In addition to my regular work on the Senate standing committees, I was appointed to serve on the Public School Funding Formula Committee, the Occupational Licensing and Certification Laws Committee, and the Purchasing & Procurement Interim Committee. I have enjoyed my time serving you, and look forward to working towards Idaho based solutions for the many issues we are confronted with.

I grew up on a dairy farm in rural Ada County, and I now live with my husband, Scott and our three children just a field away from that same farm. This is an area I know well and love deeply, from floating Indian Creek in Kuna to patronizing the many small businesses in both Meridian and Kuna. My family and I attend Cloverdale United Reformed Church in Boise where we are active members.  Our family and our faith are central to our lives.

I attended Nampa Christian Schools from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade and our three children are now students there as well.  After high school, I attended Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a minor in Public Administration.

I have held positions in both public and private sector organizations in land use and transportation planning, as well as grant administration.  My work experience and educational background has helped me to be an active representative for the great people of District 22.

Born into a family of entrepreneurs and self-starters, I believe having a culture that fosters creativity and development is essential to a successful community.  Inspiring and equipping the next generation of creators and innovators begins with a quality educational system where families have options and opportunities.  I have brought a fresh, focused, and conservative voice to our State Legislature.  Understanding the importance of principled, servant  leadership, I commit to the people of District 22 to: Advocate for a quality educational system built upon local control, Promote a culture of innovation and creativity by reducing government overreach, and Listen with an open mind to the people of District 22 and to champion your causes and interests.
